Privacy Statement

Your personal information is collected by the City of Burnaby under Section 26 (c) and (e) of the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the Act) for the purpose of conducting survey research and transportation-related data analysis of survey responses and will only be used for these purposes.

Any information obtained from each household is processed, stored, and used in a form that does not permit any particular household to be identified. Names, addresses, and phone numbers are deleted from the data file at the conclusion of the survey's data collection phase. Please be aware that access to individual household survey records will no longer be possible after November 30, 2025. These security measures are in accordance with Part 3, section 30 Protection of Personal Information of the Act. After personal identifiers are removed (de-identified), the information may be used for other related purposes by academics, transportation consultants and other government bodies or agencies, including, but not limited to, the Province and our partnering local governments within the region.

Canadian-based research firm R.A. Malatest& Associates Ltd. is conducting the survey data collection under the direction of the City of Burnaby with the highest standards of the protection of privacy and confidentiality.
